Obituary for Katheleen Lydia Dickens

DICKENS, Katheleen Lydia – The last of the great Aunties passed away today! Katheleen L. Dickens in her 95th year at the Hastings Manor Long Term Care Facility on Thursday, November 3rd, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Frank Dickens. Youngest daughter of Ernest and Margaret Johnston. Pre-deceased by her sisters Lydia Jane Johnston, Jennie Richel (Bernard) and Annis Dickens (Arthur). Loving mother to Myrna Spencer (Lloyd). Dear grandmother to Paula (Steve) Buskard, Deborah Spencer, Katrina (Marc)Henshaw and 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Katheleen will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the special Nurses and PSW’s on the fourth floor (Maple Wing) at Hastings Manor for mother’s care. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 7th, 2016 at St. Matthews United Church, 25 Holloway St., Belleville (formerly Holloway United) at 1:00p.m. (with visitation one hour prior to the service from 12noon – 1:00p.m.). Pastor Marc Henshaw officiating. Reception will be held at the church immediately following the service. Interment at Lukes Cemetery, West Huntington where she will be buried beside her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Belleville General Hospital, Oncology Department would be greatly appreciated by the family.
