ERIKA CHIASSON
July 3, 1929 – December 17, 2016. Born in Zedlitz Kreis Ohlau, Silesia, a former province of Germany.
Chiasson, Erika. Wife of late Dr. “Dan” Chiasson. Dan and Erika were married by Rector Robert A. Macdonald of St. Patrick’s Church, Quebec, 1956 and enjoyed 57 years together. Survived by daughter Suzanne Chiasson, grandchildren Naomi and Daniel, daughter Monica Prokopyshen and son-in-law Richard Prokopyshen, and daughter Renate Brandeysky. Her loving family was at her side during her short stay at Belleville General Hospital. Cherished daughter of Karl Max and Luisa Emma Korsus and dear sister to Elfrieda Hoss. Predeceased by siblings Irene, Gerhard and Fritz. The family travelled for over 30 years with Canadian Armed Forces in Europe and North America. Erika was a master gardener, loving nanny, volunteer and a “mother” to many.
The family will receive friends at the JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Ave., Belleville (613-968-5588) on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 1-3 p.m. Service will follow on Thursday at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the Salvation Army Charity, or Belleville General Hospital Foundation.
