NEILSON, ERNEST “BOB” ROBERT
Retired 2nd R.C.R., Canadian Forces
Peacefully passed at the Belleville General Hospital on Sunday, June 18th, 2017. Bob Neilson of Belleville in his 83rd year and member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Son of the late Victor E. Neilson and Irene (nee Wilson). Beloved husband of Isla L. Hartwig-Neilson (nee McLean) and step-father of Vern & Brenda Hartwig and Laurence Hartwig (Tiffany), all of Belleville and pre-deceased by step-son Eldon Hartwig. Step-father-in-law of Olga Hartwig of Peterborough. Survived by his sisters Gladys McQuinn, Marie Warren, and Bette Atkinson and predeceased by sisters Irene & Thelma. Fondly remembered by his many step-grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.
At Ernest’s request, cremation has taken place with inurnment at Elmwood Cemetery, Corbyville at a later date. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the Belleville Funeral Home & Chapel, 68 N. Front Street, Belleville (613-968-5080).
