GREGG, JENNIE ELLEN - It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Jennie Ellen Gregg (nee Maracle) announce her passing on Sunday, July 9th, 2017 at Maple Park Lodge, Fort Erie, Ontario surrounded by her family. Mrs. Gregg was in her 95th year. She was the daughter of the late James F. Maracle & Mary Ellen Maracle (nee Brant) and wife of the late George E. Gregg (1986). Mrs. Gregg is survived by her daughters Mrs. Dorothy Sanders (Wilfred) of Welland, the Venerable Valerie Kerr (the late Lloyd 2012) of St. Davids and predeceased by her sons Douglas, Gerald, & Dale and by her daughter Barbara. Mrs. Gregg is fondly remembered by her 10 grandchildren and her 27 great-grandchildren as well as numerous great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by 2 grandsons.
Jennie and her family were long time members of St. Thomas’ Anglican Church, Belleville. Jennie was also involved in many organizations in Belleville prior to her move to the Niagara area where she became involved with the Anglican parishes of All Saints Church, Dain City; St. George’s Church, St. Catharines; and St. John the Evangelist Church, Niagara Falls. Mrs. Gregg is survived by her sisters, Mrs. Ada Kring (Dalton) of Shannonville, Mrs. Joyce McIntee of Toronto and by her brother Robert (Bob) Maracle of Shannonville and she is predeceased by her brothers Jack, Bill & Lavern and by her sister Mrs. Iona Loft. She is fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Mom is now dancing again thanks be to God!
Mrs. Gregg is resting at the Belleville Funeral Home & Chapel, 68 North Front Street, Belleville (613-968-5080) for visitation on Wednesday, July 12th from 2:00 till 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 till 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be celebrated at St. Thomas’ Anglican Church, 201 Church Street, Belleville on Thursday, July 13th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment and committal prayers to follow in the family plot at All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery, Ridge Road, Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
There will also be a Celebration of Jennie’s Life held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 3428 Portage Road, Niagara Falls, L2J 2K4 on Saturday, July 15th, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with a reception to follow in the church hall.
