Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Marvin Cooney can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Cooney, Marvin Earl – Passed away at the Belleville General Hospital on Saturday August 20th, 2016. Marvin Cooney, of Belleville, in his 79th year. Son of the late Earl and Laura (Reid) Cooney. Beloved husband of 56 years of Clara Marguerite (nee Mossman). Dear father of Marie Piotto (Dino) of Brockville and Ronald Cooney (Barbara) of Belleville. Dear brother of Eunice Williams (late Butch) of Cobourg, and Thelma Chatten (Bill) of Belleville. Predeceased by his sisters Ila Swiston (Dave), Barbara Cooney, Bev Chaumont (Paul), and by his brother Murney Cooney. Loved by his grandchildren Kristina Piotto, Ashlee Cooney and McKala Cooney. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and by Pansy O’Neil. Marvin was a brick layer, block layer, and a stone mason for many years. Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Avenue, Belleville (613-968-5588) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service in the Chapel on Thursday August 25th, 2016 at 2:00p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at the Belleville Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, or to the Lung Association would be appreciated
