Missing a family friend . . .

I just heard of Min's death, late last evening. I am far removed from my hometown of Stirling, but I have many memories. Clare and Min - and Bill, Bob, Dick, Sue and Sandy - were a large part of our lives (our cousins). We shared extended family experiences. I remember visits to Uncle Will's and Aunt Bessie's cottage. Uncle Will and Aunt Bessie were our great-uncle and great-aunt. They were Bill's, Bob's, Dick's, Sue's and Sandy's grandparents. I also vividly remember Clare finding a ring I had lost in a large pile of leaves in front of their home. He had pushed his arm into the pile for some reason and it stuck on his finger! I still wear that ring!

We lived directly behind Clare and Min, on Baker Street in Stirling. Min was always quietly and calmly and graciously there. I do recall one time, though, when Min was wrong. I had played the pipe organ at St. Paul's United Church for Grant Potter's funeral service. I was quite young at the time and Min remarked to my Mom, following the service, that Mom & Dad would never have to worry about me.That wasn't quite true in the short term, as teen age years and the sixties intervened!

I will miss knowing Min is there - at home at Oak Lake.
